Lately I’ve been fostering a full-on leather legging OBSESSION! Leather leggings have been one of this year’s biggest trends, and for a good reason! What I love about them is how versatile they are; they’re essentially a glammed-up version of classic leggings. They can be paired with so many different pieces and have the ability to take any outfit up a notch, whether you’re going for a casual, dressy, or office-appropriate look.
I consider leather leggings a fall + winter closet staple, but I know they can seem a little intimidating if you’re not sure how to style them. So I’ve put together five different outfits to give you some ideas and inspiration for how you can work them into your own wardrobe. Trust me, once you get your hands on a pair, you won’t be able to get enough of them!
THE LEGGINGS
First things first: the leggings! In each outfit, I’m wearing my Spanx Faux Leather Leggings. I love these because in addition to being cute + comfortable, they suck me in in all the right places without be too tight or restricting. I’ve also linked some other options at varying price points and styles:
HOW I STYLE LEATHER LEGGINGS
1 / Casual + Cute
This is my ideal weekday uniform: Comfortable, cute, practical, and on-trend. A long sweater and chunky-heeled boots are the perfect compliment to leather leggings for an easy everyday look.

2 / Put-Together
Throw on a poncho with leather leggings and a long-sleeve tee for a comfortable yet put-together look. Ponchos are one of those pieces that instantly elevate even the simplest outfits. I especially love them for traveling because they’re easier to get on and off than jackets (i.e. at airport security) and can double as a cozy blanket on a drafty airplane. Pair with oversized sunglasses and over-the-knee boots to complete the look.

3 / Office-Appropriate
A traditional button up, cardigan vest, and pumps make a low-key statement at the office when paired with leather leggings. This look is a great option for any girl who works in a more relaxed or progressive office setting. The layers and statement jewelry on top take some of the attention away from the leggings so that you’re not calling attention to the fact that you’re wearing leather, making for a toned-down yet sophisticated office-appropriate look.

4 / Classic + Chic
I always love mixing black with other neutrals, especially anything camel-colored. It makes both colors pop and adds some interest to an otherwise monochromatic outfit. Go for an effortlessly polished look by pairing leather leggings with a classic black sweater, camel scarf, and heels.

5 / Edgy
Pair leather leggings with a fitted leather jacket, soft black sweater and open-toed booties for a night out. This combination is perfect for a more dressed-up look. The leather leggings and leather jacket mixed with the soft sweater is a great combination of textures that adds interest and dimension to a sleek, slightly edgy look. I’m wearing a dark brown jacket here, but a black leather jacket would look great as well for a black-on-black look.
