If you’ve been following my blog or Instagram for any amount of time, you probably know that my dogs, Eli and Leo, are a BIG part of my life! My husband Dario and I genuinely love spending as much time with them as we can, and we’re known for planning outings and activities that allow us to bring them along. There’s nothing better than seeing how happy they get when we load them into the car – everything is an adventure for them!
I’m always excited when I find a new place that’s pet-friendly, so I was pleasantly surprised when I recently learned that our local Barnes & Noble allows dogs inside the store – I had no idea! I decided to do some research to find out what other stores would allow Eli and Leo to shop with me, and it turns out there are a ton of nationwide retail chains that have pet-friendly policies! Keep reading for the full list of stores and some other helpful info.
Helpful tips
If shopping with your pup is new to you, here are a few things to remember to make the experience as fun and stress-free as possible for everyone involved:
- Many stores with corporate pet-friendly policies ultimately leave the animal policy for each individual location up to the manager. Just to be on the safe side, it’s always a good idea to call the store ahead of time to confirm that you can bring your pup inside.
- Always keep your dog on a leash while shopping, and be considerate of other patrons who may not think your dog’s presence inside a store is as great as you do (crazy, I know, but these people do exist! 🙂 ).
- Keep a stash of bags on hand so you can quickly clean up after your pup in case he/she gets a sudden urge to go!
- Avoid bringing your dog to stores when you know they’ll be particularly busy or crowded, like during a big sale.
